ZCKMusic Academy | International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition

 There is a considerable amount of evidence that piano competitions are beneficial to both children’s musical education and their overall development and will also teach them lessons that will encourage excellence throughout their lives.

The ZCKMusic Academy International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition is open to artists of any nationality, state, or country of residence.

The registration fee for the competition is $20 

Deadline to apply DECEMBER 15th, 2020 

The registration fee is non-refundable, even if the competitor withdraws from the competition.

 

The ZCKMusic Academy International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition

will award the following prizes to the winners of their respective categories:

Elementary Artists (ages 6-9): $50 and Certificate

Intermediate Artists (ages 10-12): $100 and Certificate

Junior Artists (ages 13-15): $120 and Certificate

Senior Artists (ages 16-18): $150 and Certificate

REPERTOIRE

All artists must submit a video recording featuring one or two selections from the Tschaikowski’s album for the young or music from Tschaikowski’s ballet The Nutcracker

Memorization and Repeats

  • A solo artist’s chosen piece must be memorized and performed in its entirety.

VIDEO REQUIREMENTS

Each artist must upload not edited high-definition (HD) video of their performance to YouTube and provide the URL link with their application.

The video quality should be at least 720p, preferably  1080p or higher.

  • The artist’s face, hands, and feet must be clearly visible throughout the recording.
  • Recordings made on acoustic pianos are preferred, but we accept recordings made on digital pianos as well. The video recording must have been made within 2 months of the submission of the application.
  • The video must be recorded in one take. Any evidence of multiple takes, or of audio that does not match the performance, will result in disqualification.
  • Do not include titles, fade-outs, or video transitions.
  • The video recording file must be labeled accordingly:
    • Last Name, First Name. City, Country, Competition Category
  • Once a video is submitted, no substitutions will be allowed.

Contestants will be graded on the following criteria, using a rating scale of 1-5

Musicality and artistry
Technical mastery
Adherence to the score
Stage presence
